Understand how Flatmates Nigeria host payouts work - when funds are released, supported banks, and what to do if a payout is delayed.
For short-let and room bookings, payment is held in escrow from the time the guest checks in. After the 24-hour guest review window closes without a dispute, funds are automatically released to your nominated payout account. You should see the credit within 1–3 business days depending on your bank.
For long-let (multi-month) tenancies, the first month's rent is released after the 24-hour check-in window. Subsequent monthly payments are disbursed on the same day of each month for the duration of the tenancy. You will receive an in-app notification and email each time a payment is released.
To receive payouts, go to Settings → Payout methods and add a Nigerian bank account. We support all CBN-licensed commercial banks including GTBank, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA, First Bank, Stanbic, FCMB, Polaris, and all microfinance banks operating on the NIBSS system.
Your payout account name must match the name on your Flatmates host account. Accounts with name mismatches are flagged for manual review, which can delay your first payout by up to 3 business days. If you operate under a business name, contact support to set up a business host account.
You can add up to two payout accounts and set one as default. Changing your default payout account takes effect on the next payment cycle - it does not affect payouts already queued.
Flatmates Nigeria charges hosts a service fee of 3% of the booking value (excluding caution deposits). This fee is deducted before payout. The breakdown is shown on every payout notification.
Caution deposits are held separately and are not part of your regular payout. They are disbursed to you at the end of the guest's tenancy, minus any agreed deductions for damages. See the caution deposit guide for more details.
If a payout has not arrived within 3 business days of the release date shown in your dashboard:
If everything looks correct but funds have not arrived after 5 business days, contact Flatmates support with your booking reference and payout reference number. We will raise a trace with our payment partner Paystack and resolve the issue.
