Anti-discrimination host screening
Every host must review and agree to our Non-Discrimination Policy before their listing goes live. Listings flagged for discriminatory language are reviewed within 4 hours.
Anonymous discrimination reporting
Renters can report suspected ethnic discrimination at any time - directly on this page or from any listing. All reports are kept fully confidential.
Public accountability reports
We publish quarterly data on discrimination reports received, cases investigated and actions taken - so our community can hold us to account.
Fair housing education for hosts
All new hosts complete our Fair Housing Guide, which explains the law, the harm of ethnic discrimination, and the consequences of violating our policy.
Priority support for affected seekers
Renters who experience verified discrimination receive priority rebooking assistance, a full refund of any fees paid, and direct access to our trust team.
Expanding access across all ethnic groups
We actively promote listings in underserved states and partner with community organisations to ensure Flatmates is a platform for every Nigerian.
Our commitment to fair housing
Housing discrimination based on ethnicity, tribe, state of origin or language has no place in Nigeria - or on Flatmates. Since launching, we have asked every host and seeker to agree to our . Anyone who violates it is removed from our platform.

Since 2025, every person who joins Flatmates Nigeria - host, host, agent or seeker - agrees to treat others with fairness and without judgment. Anyone who doesn't agree is denied access to our platform.
