About Flatmates Nigeria

Flatmates Nigeria is a property rental and flatmate-matching platform designed for the Nigerian market. It combines the trust of Airbnb with a user-friendly interface and a proven shared-accommodation model adapted to Nigerian realities. Key features include NIN/BVN verification, escrow payments, caution deposit protection and coverage across 35 Nigerian cities. As an early mover, we are fast-paced and the person who joins now will define the brand's identity for years to come.

About the Role

Within twelve months, you will have developed a content engine that generates a consistent stream of short-form video, real tenant and flatmate stories and platform-native content across Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube. This content will position Flatmates Nigeria as the obvious and trustworthy choice for anyone seeking a room or a roommate in Nigeria.

You're creating content. Real content. The kind that gets watched, shared and talked about.

You'll spend your days on the ground with our founders and product team, travelling to events, brainstorming new ideas, editing on CapCut + Edits, testing new formats and constantly asking: "How do we make this impossible to ignore?"

We don't care where you studied. We care whether you can make people stop scrolling.

You'll probably love this role if...

You're already capturing everything on your phone, and your camera roll is filled with random B-roll. You love sending your mates new Reels because "this hook is genius." When you open Instagram for just five minutes, you end up analysing why a video hit two million views. You've grown an account - yours or someone else's - and can proudly show us the numbers. You're always obsessed with making the next piece better than the last.

What You Will Do

You'll take charge of our social content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. You'll get to plan, shoot, and edit short-form videos that resonate with Nigerian platform users.

Your creative skills will shine as you write engaging captions, blog posts, and newsletter copy. You'll also have the opportunity to capture authentic stories from tenants, landlords, and flatmates, sharing both their positive and challenging experiences.

As the face and host of the Open Door podcast, you'll bring our brand to life. Collaborating with our design and product team, you'll help turn feature launches into shareable content.

Your analytical skills will be key as you assess performance metrics like saves, shares, and watch time to optimise our content. Plus, you'll play a vital role in defining our brand voice in a new category in Nigeria.

Preferred (nice to have)

Experience in proptech, fintech, or marketplace startups.

Basic skills in photography lighting or audio setup, and a proven track record of boosting brand or personal account engagement.

A sharp eye on Nigerian Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok trends - you know a good hook when you see one, understand pacing, and know how to keep attention. You can stand in a room and know exactly which 15 seconds is the video. You can make someone feel comfortable on camera.

Confident video editing skills with CapCut, Premiere, or similar, and skilled in Canva with a flair for layout and design.

A clear communicator and strong writer who's always in the loop with social media trends - proactive, organised, and full of can-do energy.
