Backend Engineer

About the role

Build the APIs and data pipelines powering listings, payments, and trust systems at scale. You will work on Supabase (Postgres), Next.js API routes, and third-party integrations including Paystack and identity verification providers.

What you will do

Design and build robust API routes and database schemas

Own the payment and escrow flow end to end

Build real-time features using Supabase Realtime

Write database migrations and maintain schema integrity

Collaborate with the frontend team on API contracts

Your Expertise

• -

  3+ years of backend engineering experience

• -

  Strong Postgres and SQL skills

• -

  Familiarity with Supabase or Firebase

• -

  Experience building and consuming REST APIs

• -

  Knowledge of security best practices - RLS, input validation, rate limiting
