How to Book a Shortlet on Flatmates Nigeria

To find shortlet accommodation, select the 'Shortlet' tab on the Flatmates Nigeria homepage, then enter your destination - a city, area, or landmark such as 'Victoria Island', 'Wuse 2', or 'Enugu Road'. Set your check-in and check-out dates and the number of guests.

Use the filters to narrow down by nightly budget, number of bedrooms, property type (studio, flat, duplex, townhouse), and amenities like Wi-Fi, pool, gym, or dedicated workspace. Listings with the 'Instant Book' badge can be booked without waiting for host approval.

Before booking, review the full listing carefully. Key things to check:

• Photos - look for multiple angles of each room, including the bathroom and kitchen
• Amenities - confirm that specific items you need (e.g. Netflix, washing machine, generator backup) are listed
• House rules - check for quiet hours, no-smoking policy, guest limits, and pet policy
• Cancellation policy - know your refund entitlement before you pay
• Host reviews - read recent reviews for mentions of check-in ease, cleanliness, and responsiveness
• Caution deposit - note the amount; it will be collected at or before check-in

Tap 'Book now' (Instant Book) or 'Request to book'. Enter your contact details and a short note to the host - for example any special arrival time or accessibility requirements. Review the price breakdown (nightly rate × nights + cleaning fee + service fee + caution deposit) and tap 'Confirm and pay'.

Payment is processed securely through Paystack. You can pay with a Nigerian debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Verve), bank transfer to a unique virtual account, or via OPay, Kuda, or PalmPay. Your caution deposit is held separately and refunded after checkout provided no damage is found.

Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with your booking reference and a link to the property details page. The host will send check-in instructions - usually the property address with detailed directions, a gate or door code, and the caretaker's phone number - at least 4 hours before your arrival.

If you have not received check-in instructions 2 hours before your scheduled arrival, message the host through the app or contact Flatmates support. Do not pay any additional fees at the door - all legitimate charges should have been included in your booking total.
